The Censor Preview Committee has recently received a letter from the Chalachitra Oikyajot asking the committee to investigate if the films Nabab and Boss 2 have been made in accordance with the rules of joint production.
The Film Preview Committee has already started investigation and found disparity in Boss 2. Nabab, however, has not been submitted for review yet.
“We have watched the film Boss 2 today morning (June 6). There are things in it that are not in compliance with the rules of joint production. They did not keep a 50 percent artist parity. There are fewer Bangladeshi artists in it. We will inform the Ministry of Information. They will make the appropriate decision,” Nasiruddin Dilu, a member of the Censor Preview Committee, said on Tuesday (June 6).
The owner of Jaaz Multimedia Abdul Aziz, however, asserted that there is parity. “May be they did not recognise some of the artists. There is Shahed Ali and other local artists. We will have a talk with them about this. We are hopeful to release these two films in Eid,” said Abdul Aziz.
Boss 2 stars Jeet, Nusrat Faria and Subhasree Ganguly. Indraneil Sengupta and Amit Hasan also acted in the film. The film is being produced jointly by the Bangladeshi company Jaaz Multimedia and India’s Jeetz Filmworks Private Limited, and directed by Baba Jadob.
In Nabab, Subhasree is starring along with Shakib. Amit Hasan, Kharaj Mukherjee, Rajatava Dutta, Meghla, Sabyasachi Chakraborty also acted in the movie. For this film, Jaaz Multimedia has been joined by SK Movies of Kolkata for the joint production. Directed by Joydeb Mukherjee from the Indian side of the production, the Nabab and Boss 2 both have Abdul Aziz, the producer, as the token Bangladeshi director.
