Actor Farooque admitted to hospital

Awami League lawmaker and National award-winning veteran actor Akbar Hossain Pathan, better known as Farooque, was rushed to a private hospital in the capital on Sunday.

The actor has been suffering from fever since Eid-ul-Azha. He was admitted to the hospital after his condition had significantly deteriorated, confirmed the President of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association Misha Sawdagar to the press.

His samples were collected twice for COVID-19, and the results came negative.

The popular silver screen actor worked in more than 150 films, receiving National Film Award in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category for the film ‘Lathial’ in 1975 and in the Lifetime Achievement category in 2016.

His most notable films are Abar Tora Manush Ho, Sujon Sokhi, Golapi Ekhon Train e, Sareng Bou and among others.
