The final post-mortem report in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case has been submitted to the Mumbai Police; and ‘asphyxia due to hanging’ has been cited as the cause of death.
According to India Today, the provision post-mortem report was given by three doctors, the final report signed off by five. The report has ruled out the possibility of foul play.
“There were no struggle marks or external injuries on Sushant Singh Rajput’s body. His nails were clean,” the report read, adding that it was ‘a clear case of suicide’.
Sushant’s dog is alive, The Mumbai police reported. News websites that provided alternate theories regarding the actor’s death, speculating that it was more than a suicide, would be questioned by the authorities and asked to reveal their sources.
The 34-year-old actor was found hanging at his Mumbai residence on June 14.
At the time, Police officials confirmed there was no suicide note. Sushant was suffering from depression for the last six months and also undergoing treatment at the Hinduja Hospital.
“Prima Facie, this looks like a case of suicide. No suspicious thing was found at the spot," said Mumbai Police DCP Abhishek Trimukhe, reported Zeenews.
