Folk singer Bina Majumder died from Covid-19 in a hospital in New York. The news was confirmed by New York resident Mili Sultana on Tuesday through social media.
"Bina Majumder of Faridpur left us succumbing to the claws of coronavirus," the heartfelt post read. "May Allah grant her a special place in heaven."
She had been suffering from various health complications for the past few years.
She was a singer for Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television. Bangladesh Folk Art Council expressed their sorrow at her demise.
