Director Fakhrul Arefeen Khan's forthcoming film, Gondi, was submitted on Thursday to Bangladesh Film Censor Board for censor certificate.
In a press release the director stated: "We have finished filming and now waiting for the censor certificate, as soon as we receive it, we will finalize the release date.
"We are hoping to release the film in the first week of February."
Based on Reza Arif’s script, the story of the film develops around the friendship between a 65-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, who develop feelings for each other. In the film, veteran actor Sabyasachi Chakrabarty portrays the 65-year-old man alongside Suborna Mustafa playing the woman.
The cast also includes Aparna Ghose, Majnun Mizan, and child actor Fiona.
Indian music director and film composer Debojyoti Mishra composed the background score of Gondi.
To filmmaker Arefeen’s credit are documentaries like Haq-er Ghar, Al Badar, and The Speech, and feature film Bhuban Majhi, based on the Liberation War of 1971.
