Popular Bangladeshi band Maqsood O’ dHAKA has announced their upcoming album, Global Bauliana, on Sunday. The news was published on the band’s frontman and lead vocalist Maqsoodul Haque’s (Mac) personal Facebook profile.
The recently announced album will be focused on the impacts of climate change and the environment, with an emphasis on ‘social environment.’ Maqsood said in his recent Facebook post that the album took “more than three years in the making, with a lot of backbreaking work and research.”
“We have already recorded nine tracks which are all in the pre-mix/mastering stage at the moment. Initially three tracks will be released simultaneously, with music videos to support them,” he added. He also wrote: “All the songs feature strong environmental and social messages of peace, harmony, and cohesion from iconic influences of our time, from Fakir Lalon Shah to Azam Khan, a Bangla rendition of a Bob Marley song and many more. I have also penned and composed some original tracks.”
Maqsood also said the album has incorporated reggae, jazz, blues, and funk fusion, along with a variety of South Asian semi-classical influences. The album aims to bring a unique soundscape to their fans in Bangladesh, as well as listeners from all over the world.
The band will be featuring Creed Against Greed, a female choir with Elita Karim, Musharrat Jahan Aanchal, and CJ Racy.

Maqsood O’ dHAKA’s current line up includes Mac Haque as their lead vocals, curator, and in-charge of musical direction and arrangements , Sekender Ahmmed Khoka on bass, Fazlul Haque Montu on drums, Ekramul Haque Shakil on lead guitar, Golam Rabbi Shohag on keyboards and vocals, and Shakib Khan Mimo on rhythm guitar and vocals.
