Former Hollywood couple, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, who were living separately for nearly two years, have finally applied for divorce, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Coordinating the filing of nearly identical documents at the same time, the couple formally filed divorce papers recently. And, in a somewhat unusual legal move, both stars cited in pro persona, a legal condition which states that Affleck and Garner are representing themselves, and do not refer any lawyer representing them.
Affleck and Garner got married in 2005 and have three children together – two daughters, Violet and Seraphina, and a son named Samuel. The acting duo are seeking joint custody of their three children.
Ben Affleck appeared in 2003 superhero film Daredevil alongside Jennifer Garner. The pair had announced that they were getting a divorce in June 2015, a day after their 10th wedding anniversary.
In a joint statement, Affleck and Garner said, “We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter.”
A two-time Oscar winner, Affleck recently announced that he completed a stint in rehab, and thanked Garner for supporting him and caring for their kids while he was recovering from alcohol addiction.
