Sultan Selim suffering from lack of proper treatment

One of the most prominent actors in jatrapala, and a freedom fighter of the Liberation War, Sultan Selim, is currently bedridden, and suffering from lack of adequate treatment, due to his family's financial crisis. He is admitted at the Manikganj district hospital for the last one week, and has been suffering from diabetes, heart, and kidney diseases, along with high blood pressure.

Actor Sultan Selim's career began in the '70s with jatrapala, and he mostly played lead roles, to entertain the audience with his diverse range of acting. For his contribution to jatrapala, he had received numerous awards. 

Medicine consultant Sakina Anowar said:"His condition is not so well. He is suffering from diabetes, heart and kidney disease,and high blood pressure. One of his legs had been amputated already. The other one is also in critical condition. It's infection is spreading. At this juncture, he needs advanced treatment, which is not possible at the Manikganj hospital."

On the other hand Colonel Malek Medical College Hospital's Registrar of Surgery, Dr Riyaz, informed that they have formed a medical board for Sultan Selim. According to him, every effort is being made from his, and the hospital's side for proper treatment.

Jatra artist and director Amalendu Biswas led Sultan Selim into the path of arts, and culture. He began acting in the middle of the '70s, and used to play the role of hero. He was known to keep the audience of jatra entertained from the beginning of the play to the end.
