'Fagun Haway' receives two awards at Saarc Film Festival

Tauquir Ahmed-directed film Fagun Haway, bagged two awards at the ninth edition of Saarc Film Festival held in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.

Fagun Haway received the awards under Best Cinematography (Enamul Haque Sohel), and Best Sound Design category (Ripon Nath).

The film is inspired by Tito Rahman’s Bou Kotha Kow, a short story based on the 1952 language movement.

This year five films from Bangladesh, including two feature films, and two short films were screened at the festival.

Fagun Haway and Komola Rocket were selected in Feature Films category, while Nasiruddin Yusuff Bachhu directed Alpha was screened in the Master Films category.

Previously, Tauquir Ahmed achieved the best screenplay award for the film The Unnamed (Oggatonama) in the seventh edition of the SAARC Film Festival in 2017, and won four awards, including the Best Feature Film award at the competition segment of the 8th Saarc Film Festival in 2018.

The festival had been rescheduled for July 2 to 7.
