Kareena Kapoor will be paired with Aamir Khan in “Laal Singh Chaddha,” the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood blockbuster “Forrest Gump.” The duo had previously acted side by side in the comedy “3 Idiots” (2009) and the crime drama “Talaash” (2012).
The film will be helmed by “Secret Superstar” (2017) director Advait Chandan. The movie is aiming for a Christmas release next year. Kareena Kapoor will perhaps play the role of Jenny, Forrest’s love interest who had a difficult childhood.
Robert Zemeckis’s 1994 movie was a huge success. Tom Hanks played Forrest and Robin Wright played Jenny in the original Hollywood version. It inspired the Korean movie “Ode to My Father” (2014), which was later officially remade into Salman Khan’s “Bharat” (2019).
