The Bengal Foundation has released four full-fledged audio albums in CD format for this Eid-ul-Fitr. The albums are available on various digital platforms as well.
The albums are Sharmin Sathi Islam’s “Chameli Tomari Chand,” Saiful Islam’s “Marmer Majhe,” Sohini Mukhopaddhay Pola’s “Kahar Tore” and Suchisree Ray’s “An Ode to Banaras.”
Zahidul Haque, senior manager of the music division at Bengal Foundation, in a press release said: “The albums have already been released on the market and are also available on digital platforms.”
Sharmin Sathi Islam’s album features ten songs composed by the late composer-director Himangshu Dutt.
“Baroshar megh namey”, “Jhora patar fakey”, “Rater moyur chorale je pakha,” and “Premer na hobey kkhoy” are some of the songs on the album.
In addition, Saiful Islam’s album “Marmer Majhe” has eight Islamic songs, including “Nabi namer nouka”, “Jwele marmer majhe,” and “Ki jani ki dile.” The songs are penned and composed by folk poet Bijoy Sarkar.
Sohini Mukhopaddhay’s album is contains Tagore songs including “Amar e path”, “Ami nishidin tomay bhalobasi”, “Tobu mone rekho”, “Aro ektu boso tumi” and many more.
Suchisree Ray’s album contains six famous thumris, and is a tribute to the Banaras thumri.
