Adventure film “Hridoyer Rongdhonu” is set to be released on February 22, and to the surprise of many the film will be screened at one theatre only, that is the Star Cineplex at Bashundhara City.
When asked why the film is being released only at one theatre, director Razibul Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime: “Our target audiences are youngsters, therefore, we don’t want the youngsters to come to the theatre, and we want to reach to them.”
“So, if they like the movie, they will spread the news, and watch it with friends,” he added.
"Before making the film, we conducted surveys to understand the youngsters of Bangladesh, aged 15 to 30, and this is a proper film for people of this age group,” stated Razibul.
Eventually, it will be released in more theatres nationwide, depending on audience’s demand. Earlier last month, the trailer of the film was released on YouTube.
The film was an Official Selection in “View Corner” at the Goa Film Bazaar and had its "Asian Premiere." This year the film was also an Official Selection of the 17th Dhaka International Film Festival 2019 in the Bangladesh Panorama, and an Official Selection of the 12th Ethiopian International Film Festival.
The plot of the film includes four friends from very wealthy families are invited on an unknown journey. They accept the challenge and go on a versatile adventure across beautiful Bangladesh.
Suddenly, things get twisted and the four friends reach an unknown island. Upon reaching the place, they have no idea what to do or where to go and they have to help the poor islanders.
