John Mayer to tour Bangkok in April

The multi-talented John Mayer's special brand of music has earned the American a number of Grammy Awards and legions of fans around the world, including in Thailand.

So it comes as no major surprise that the singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer will be stopping in Bangkok as part of his 2019 World Tour, performing his first-ever concert in Thailand, "John Mayer Asia Tour Live In Bangkok 2019", on April 3 at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani.

The seven-time Grammy winner is best known for hits such as New Light, Gravity, Love On The Weekend, Heartbreak Warfare, Daughters and many more. Over the years, he has embraced various genres, including pop, rock, blues, folk, country, soul and jazz. This has helped to bring him major chart success in the US and internationally, winning him millions of fans across the world. A guitar maestro, he's known for both his solo career and his work with the John Mayer Trio. Mayer picked up the guitar at the age of 13 and took lessons for two years.

He worked hard to pursue a career in music. His big break came when he performed at the South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas, in 2000, following which, he was signed by Aware Records.

He is rare among mainstream artists in his ability to change musical styles and become successful across genres, having established himself in contemporary rock and broadening his scope to incorporate the blues, jazz and other styles. Time magazine praised Mayer for his "vigorous voice texture and emotional fearlessness". A significant number of his albums have gone multi-platinum.

Tickets to the John Mayer Asia Tour Live in Bangkok 2019 will start from $70 and go on sale at Saturday morning at all Thai Ticketmajor outlets and their official website.
