Despite political tensions between South Asian nations, artistes from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan have broken borders in a music video titled “Talash”. The single has brought together Indian rock band Spunk, Pakistani band Call’s vocalist Junaid Khan, and Bangladeshi production company Glitch Studios.
Spunk’s vocalist Abhishek Chatterjee, guitarist Soumik Roy, bassist Rahul Maity and drummer Abhinandan Mukherjee worked with Junaid to create the rock metal track. “Talash” has transcended borders and gained appreciation of music lovers throughout the Subcontinent.
This is the first single from the collaborative lineup and their upcoming debut album “Aarambh”.
“In the music video, ‘Talash’, which roughly translates to ‘search’ in Urdu and Hindi, my character is seen on a journey searching for inner peace throughout the beautiful landscapes of Nepal. Hence, the hashtag #talashforpeace,” Baizid Haque Joarder, a cast of the music video, told Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime.
“Lahore-based music band Call’s lead vocalist and popular actor Junaid Khan recently contacted indie alternative-rock band Spunk’s drummer Abhinandan Mukherjee in Kolkata via social media and started working on this project. Later on, Tahim Habib Dipro of Glitch Studios in Bangladesh came on board to direct the video. The production of this multinational collaboration was held in Nepal for everyone’s convenience,” added Baizid.
The track was co-written by Junaid Khan and Spunk, while Rhitabrata Kar recorded, mixed and mastered it at RBK Studio in Kolkata, India.
The video was shot by Saddat Hossain of Bangladesh’s Maverick Studios. The project was produced by Spunk, Accombliss and Production House (Nepal).
