Veteran Bollywood actor, writer, and comedian Kader Khan has passed away in Canada, on Monday, night due to his long-term illness.
His son Sarfaraz confirmed the news on Tuesday, reports Hindustan Times. He added that the funeral will be held in Canada on the same day.
“My dad has left us. He passed away on December 31, at 6 pm, as per Canadian time, due to prolonged illness. He slipped into a coma in the afternoon. He was in the hospital for 16-17 weeks. The last rites will be performed here, in Canada, only,” he told PTI.
On December 28, 2018, the 81-year-old veteran actor, who worked in over 300 Bollywood films, was admitted to a Canadian hospital as the condition of his health declined.
Recently, Sarfaraz dismissed rumours when media portals reported of his death on December 31, 2018.
Kader Khan reportedly suffered from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking, and dementia.
