Mira, the proud housewife

After Mira Rajput’s first public appearance in Koffee With Karan, the Delhi born wife of superstar Shahid Kapoor infiltrated the news with her speech at an Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) program, where she declared her happiness in being a homemaker. Mira said that she wears the label of housewife with pride. “Why can’t you be an accomplished homemaker?” she asked. Mira told the audience that it was tough on her when she was pregnant with Misha, the couple’s seven months old daughter. Now she loves being at home where she can spend time with the child. “I don’t want to spend an hour with her and then rush to work. I don’t want to spend one hour in the day with my child and then rush off to work,” Mira said. Saying that the whole point of having a baby was to be able to see it grow up. Mira exclaimed that Misha “is my baby, not a puppy!” The gossip columns got instantly busy theorizing that her statement about rushing to work may have been a jibe at her husband’s famous ex, Kareena Kapoor. Kareena, who has also had a baby recently, was back at work within a month after the birth of Taimur, Saif Ali Khan and Bebo’s son. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor’s much publicised relationship ended nearly a decade ago, when Kareena left Shahid for Saif Ali Khan. Shahid got married to Mira last year. Mira Rajput, who is an outsider in the industry, has apparently forged a strong marriage with the Bollywood star, who said that Mira was the necessary “normal” part in his life and he loves coming back home to her.
