Recreating yet another 90’s song

Every 90s kid knows the song “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast.” The Mohra number was responsible for making the film one of the greatest hits of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon. Now, producer Jayantilal Gada seems to have taken a page out of the Dharma playbook by recreating “Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast” from Rajiv Rai’s 1994 film Mohra, in director duo Abbas-Mustan’s upcoming romantic thriller, The Machine. Recently, this remix has created a storm on social media, just after the video was released on YouTube. Recreating the chart busters from 1990s’ films is quite popular nowadays. The year started with Dharma Productions rejigging “Humma Humma” - the immensely popular song of Mani Ratnam’s 1995 film Bombay, which featured again in Shaad Ali’s Ok Jaanu. The trend continued in Shashank Khaitan’s Badrinath Ki Dulhania, with “Tamma Tamma Again,” in order to pay tribute to the original song of the 1990 film Thanedar. The Times of India reported that Advani showed the first cut of this new version to Tandon, and the two even did signature steps of the song together. The Machine will mark Mustafa’s acting debut, and is slated to release on March 17.
