Bangladeshi documentary film “Gotipot” (Moving Canvas) has been nominated for screening at two international festivals. This 26-minute documentary was made by Mridul Mamun, and produced by Drisshokar Films and Stamford University Bangladesh.
The film is due to participate in the 8th Treasure Coast International Film Festival to be held in Florida, USA. The festival started on Thursday and will run till Sunday.
Today, “Gotipot” will be screened at Touchstar Cinema’s Sabal Palms Luxury 6 theatre, which will be its American premiere. The film will compete with 65 other international films in two categories, which are: Best Student Film, and Viewer’s Choice Award.

Mridul said to Showtime: “I am very excited about the film’s participation in this festival, as it is the only Bangladeshi film competing.
"The film is about those young pioneers among Bangladeshi artists who made Aziz Market’s T-shirt stalls famous. They are helping to popularize designs inspired from Bangladeshi culture all over the world. Lately they are fusing Bangladeshi motifs with Western elements. Bahar Rahman of Nityaupohar started this movement along with many other talents. The film is about these pioneers.”
Mridul has previously made “Kobutorbaj (Pigeon player)” and “ShobaiAkjat (All are the same race),” of which, the latter has received the best documentary award at the Celluloid Film Festival. “Gotipot” will also participate in the Nouga International Short and Documentary Film Festival 2018, in Assam, India.
