TV presenter and model turned popular film star Nusraat Faria Mazhar’s debut single track “Pataka” was released on Thursday on CMV and SVF Music’s YouTube channels for Bangladesh and India respectively. The video with more than 150 thousand views on both channels is getting mixed reactions from the audience.
By Friday afternoon, the track on CMV’s official YouTube channel had reached 160 thousand views with 3,200 likes and 2,400 dislikes, which is an uncommon ratio for Faria’s music videos.
Audiences are giving both positive and negative feedback comments on the music video of Faria’s debut single. Some are applauding her for hidden talents as a singer while others are criticising her for getting into the music industry, and telling her to stick to acting and dancing.
A viewer named Fahmida Kabir commented: “Wow. Amazing singing and performance by Faria. Just mind blowing.” On the other hand, Choyon Ahmed commented: “Artistes like her are ruining this country’s music. These are just awful lyrics.”
Nusraat Faria, at a launch event organized by SVF in Kolkata, told the press: “Although singing is my passion, I was never professionally trained in it as I came from a conservative background. ‘Pataka’ is my message to every woman who is nursing a broken heart. The revenue from my song will contribute towards the education of children.”
She secretly recorded the song last December and shot its music video on March 18 and 19 in Mumbai, India. The catchy dance beat of the music video was choreographed by the internationally acclaimed director and choreographer, Baba Yadav.
The track sung by Faria was penned by Rakib Ruhul and composed by Pritom Hasan. The music video can also be streamed at Banglaflix.
