Actor turned filmmaker Tauquir Ahmed recently announced his film “Fagun Hawa” based on the 1952 Language Movement. The director has also recently announced to cast Nusrat Imrose Tisha as Dipti, one of the leading roles of the film.
Both the director and the actor confirmed the news to the press recently.
This film is going to be the second one from Tauquir where Tisha will play the lead. She previously acted in the director’s “Haldaa” which was well received by both the audience and critics. The film’s shoot will start from March 10 in Khulna.
Tauquir recently told the press that though he did talk to a few other actors for the role of Dipti, he ultimately chose her as he had previous experience of working with her and only an experienced actor like her can do justice to the role.
Tauquir also said that the film based on a short story called “Bou Kotha Kou” by Tito Rahman will portray a story of a sub-urban region of Bangladesh during the time of the language movement. The project will be produced by Impress Telefilms.
Tisha recently told the press that she is very excited to be a part of this project as no major films have been done about this movement recently.
She also added that Tauquir is an excellent director and that she came to know that firsthand while working with him in his 2017 feature film “Haldaa.”
The director previously helmed four films - “Joyjatra” (2004), “Rupkathar Golpo” (2006), “Daruchini Deep” (2007) and his latest “Haldaa” (2017).
