Highest paid celebrities of 2017

Forbes released its 100 Highest Paid Celebrities of 2017 list. Last year’s reigning queen Taylor Swift took a tumble to 49 with a $126 million pay cut while football idol Cristiano Ronaldo, radio host Howard Stern and “Never Never” author James Patterson remained in the top 10 highest paid celebrities on the list.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs

It’s hard to keep up with the many names of Sean Combs. Whether he’s going by Puff Daddy, P Diddy, Sean Diddy or just Diddy is anyone’s guess. He tops the chart of highest paid celebrities of 2017 with a whopping $130 million. The major portion of this income came from the sale of 80% share of his company “Sean John” for $70 million.

Beyonce Knowles

With $105 million, the 36 year old star lands the number two spot while hubby Jay Z made the list at 55 alongside Celine Dion and Luke Bryan with $42 million. Knowles is one of the only two celebrities to earn over a hundred million this year.

JK Rowling

Thanks to the “Harry Potter” franchise, Rowling regained her place as the highest paid author this year with a stunning $95 million income for 2017 and a total net worth of $650 million. Even with the continued success of “Game of Thrones,” scribe George RR Martin fell off the list accompanied by “Fault in our Stars” writer John Green.

Drake

Drake had a great year with “Take Care” continuing to ride the Billboard 200 charts for over 250 weeks. Even though his new song “Pistols” leaked online this week, it didn’t stop him from reaching the spot 4 with a staggering $94 million.

Cristiano Ronaldo

With $93 million, Ronaldo remains the world’s highest paid athlete, followed by basketball player LeBron James at 10 with $86 million.
