‘Oggatonama’ wins Best Screenplay award at Saarc Film Festival

Tauquir Ahmed’s film “Oggatonama,” which participated at Saarc Film Festival 2017, has won the Best Screenplay title.
Monjurul Islam Megh, the communication coordinator of Saarc Film Festival 2017 for Bangladesh, confirmed the information with the press quoting the Saarc Film Festival and Saarc Culture Centre Sri Lanka's senior officer, Mahinda Sundanaskara.
A total of 16 featured films from eight Saarc nations’ competed in the festival at Sri Lanka’s capital Colombo between November 21 and November 25. The jury gave the title to “Oggatonama” in the competitive section of the festival.
Two feature films – “Oggatonama” by Tauquir Ahmed and “Premi O Premi” by Zakir Hossain Raju – participated in the festival from Bangladesh.
The guests, jury members, Saarc nations’ diplomats and other prominent figures handed over the prize to Tauquir on Saturday.
Tauquir’s upcoming film “Haldaa” will be released in 80 theatres of Bangladesh on December 1. The film will get an international release on December 8.
