'Glee' star Naya Rivera arrested for assaulting husband

American actor and singer Naya Rivera, known for playing Santana Lopez on Fox's musical comedy-drama TV series “Glee,” was arrested Saturday night for allegedly assaulting her husband in West Virginia, reports CNN. The 30-year-old actor allegedly attacked her husband, Ryan Dorsey, 34, on the head, while spending the Thanksgiving weekend in his hometown of Chesapeake, confirmed NY Daily News quoting a police source. A video of the actor in court, captured by local news station WSAZ, showed a soft-spoken and handcuffed Rivera, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt while being arraigned. The local media outlet also stated that Rivera was accused of a misdemeanour domestic battery charge and was released by her father-in-law on a $1,000 bond. Rivera has also been having an eventful time since the last year. Last month, the star called off her divorce with Dorsey — with whom she has a 2-year-old son, Josey. The couple started dating back in 2010, before going their separate ways, while she starred on “Glee.” However, they later reconciled and wed in July 2014, just three months after calling off her engagement to rapper Big Sean. Starting as early as 4 years old, Rivera played the role of Hillary Winston on “The Royal Family,” for which she was nominated at the Young Artist Award. Her first solo single, "Sorry," featuring American rapper Big Sean, was released on September 17, 2013. The actor and singer, however, rose to fame as cheerleader Santana Lopez on the hit series “Glee,” which ran from 2009 to 2015.
