Jude Law in talks to join Brie Larson in ‘Captain Marvel’

English actor Jude Law is in negotiations to play the male lead opposite Brie Larson in Marvel’s first female-fronted stand-alone superhero film “Captain Marvel.” Hollywood Reporter confirmed, veteran actor Samuel L Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn are set to play two of the most important roles in the upcoming film. Based on the Marvel Comics superheroine Captain Marvel, the film is the 21st installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Acclaimed director duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are at the helm of the movie. “Captain Marvel” will revolve around Carol Danvers (Larson), an Air Force pilot who gains powers after her DNA becomes fused with an alien after an accident. Jackson will play (a two-eyed) Nick Fury in the film, and Mendelsohn will be the villian. The role Law will play in the movie is yet to be disclosed, as Marvel authorities have made no comments on the most recent cast. 40-year-old Law will also star as Albus Dumbledore in the Warner Bros “Fantastic Beasts”sequel. “The Mississippi Grind” actor will also be seen in Paramount's spy thriller “The Rhythm Section” beside Blake Lively. “Captain Marvel” is slated to be released on March 8, 2019.
