Indian choreographer Baba Yadav taken into police custody, director denies

Renowned Bollywood choreographer Baba Yadav along with three of his acquaintances was taken to the police custody in Sunamganj’s Tahirpur. The four Indian citizens, who came to Bangladesh for the shooting of a Jaaz Multimedia film titled “Pora Mon 2”, failed to show the tax permit and ministry’s authorisation to work for the film. Tahirpur Thana police taken the crew into police custody on Friday and transferred them to the immigration department in Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport around 2.30pm on the same day, confirmed Nondon Kanti Dhor, officer in-charge of the police station. “We came to know that the four Indians had come to Bangladesh for work purpose without any permission of the concerned authorities,” said the OC. Sources confirmed that the four detainees, dance director Baba Yadab, his associates Biplob, Sanjay Kumar, and Rajesh Kumar were working as the dance members of the film directed by Raihan Rafi. However, a couple of hours after the circulation of the news, director Raihan Rafi came on live from his Facebbok account to say that news of detention was completely baseless. The said choreographer was beside him during the Facebook live. Baba Yadav, the famous Tollywood and Bollywood film choreographer and director, has directed four films so far, inclduing “Boss”, “Boss 2”, “Badsha the Don”,  “Game: He Plays to Win”. Yadav worked as one of the choreographers for the Aamir Khan starred film “Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India”. His successful Bollywood ventures also include Shah Rukh Khan- Aishwarya Rai starrer 2002 film “Devdas.” Mahi- Simon starrer “Pora Mon” was released in 2013. Following the commercial success of the film, Jaaz Multimedia has decided to make a sequel of the film, which would replace the Mahi-Simon duo with two neophytes- Puja Cherry Roy and Siam Ahmed in the silver screen.
