Kit Harington and Liv Tyler in BBC historical drama

The BBC has released the images and a special teaser of the Game of Thrones actor Kit Harington’s upcoming drama Gunpowder, a historical thriller also starring Liv Tyler, on Monday.
Kit Harington and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring actress will be seen for the first time in the explosive new drama.
Kit Harington plays Robert Catesby in the forthcoming BBC One drama, a Warwickshire gentleman who was the mastermind behind the plan to blow up the Houses of Parliament on November 5, 1605. Tom Cullen from Downton Abbey plays Guy Fawkes, the figure that many viewers will be more familiar with, which can be seen alongside Harington in a first-look trailer.
While Liv Tyler plays Catesby’s cousin Anne Vaux, who gets caught up in the plot.
The short teaser depicts a trail of gunpowder leading to a cellar where Fawkes is waiting, but when the camera pans further round it shows Catesby standing behind him narrating the clip.
In a primetime Saturday night slot, the three-part drama will air on BBC One this fall. The fast-paced period thriller relates the famous story of the “Gunpowder Plot,” a 17th-century conspiracy to blow up the British House of Lords in an attempt to assassinate King James I. The event is commemorated every November 5 in Britain as Guy Fawkes Day, named after one of the conspirators.
