Facebook users across Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka have reportedly been facing a puzzling glitch on the widely-used social media platform.
Users assert that Facebook is unexpectedly sending “automatic friend requests” to individuals upon visiting their profiles.
This problem, which could potentially infringe upon user privacy and autonomy, has drawn attention and sparked discussions among those affected.
The error seems to transpire when one user browses another individual's profile, instigating an unrequested friend request to be dispatched from the visitor's profile.
As this is violating personal security and digital consent, concerns have been raised among users.
Meta did not comment on the issue yet, providing neither an official statement nor an acknowledgment of the glitch's existence.
