A day to remember and thank our fathers

Father's Day honors and celebrates the men who have taken on the pivotal role of fatherhood. On this day, we honor fathers and father figures for the enormous sacrifices they make and diligently carry out the responsibility of nurturing their children, and in turn shaping the future of our world.

Although mothers perform an important role in the lives of their children, the importance of a loving father cannot be overstated. Both parents are like two wheels on a bicycle, driving and shaping their children’s lives through various stages by taking on different roles -- they both work as a team to raise their children to become responsible adults.

Father’s Day is observed around the world to respect fathers who serve as shields and healers while also inspiring their children to become capable leaders of the future. Every child looks up to his or her father as a constant in their lives, on whom they can rely at any time.

We commemorate this day to honor fathers who, like an actor or a chameleon, have to play a variety of roles for their children. It is important to remember how a father empowers himself to expertly perform any role that is assigned to him. And these roles are all addressed to the same person, the one who raises us, who teaches us right from wrong, and who takes on the role of a doctor, sitting up all night with a wet cloth by the side of his sick child, all while enabling the child to become a better human.

A father is like a sweet syrup, curing all of the child's troubles. With the instinct to be a guardian and caregiver for his child, he can make any problem disappear. Our fathers never seem to want us to be like him, but rather to outperform him.

Father’s Day is intended to recognize the invaluable contributions of fathers in our society and to inspire us to admire their unwavering hard work and the sacrifices they make for their children, their family, and the wider community. This is our chance to repay our fathers with the same love and affection that they have always shown us. Don’t be afraid to show them how much you care for them; they certainly deserve it.

Make your gestures, gifts, and mementos more personal to make them feel loved and special. Not only should we do this today, but every day from now on. Our fathers value even the smallest of our gestures.

Demonstrate your gratitude by writing a letter to your father or telling him how much he means to you. The key is to remember those special moments when he made an indelible impression on you. It can be very simple yet very effective. It simply has to be a message that expresses your love for him.

A father always helps us, safeguards us from harm, and brings light to our world with his wisdom. He brings brightness and miracles into his children’s lives and, most importantly, he motivates them to shine bright in every step of their lives.

Every father has a special place in the hearts of his children, and the world celebrates Father’s Day every year on the third Sunday of June to honor his contributions. Let everyone work together to make this Father’s Day one to remember for those who deserve it the most.
