Despite there being issues with the government’s inoculation program, there is no doubt that the authorities and health officials in charge of the most recent mass vaccination drive have done an admirable job of providing exemplary service and coverage to the people of this nation.
Since the beginning of the vaccination program, more than 18.5 million doses have been administered, with an impressive 2.8 million vaccines given on Saturday alone, an impressive record-breaking number that we most definitely wish to see carry forward and continue to increase moving forward.
This is the sort of robust and widespread vaccination we need in order to come out on the other side of this pandemic, with our health as a nation intact and the people of this nation ready to get back to their duties as contributing members of society.
Bangladesh has been a success story in the pandemic, showcasing economic growth at around 5% while other nations have struggled to do the same, if at all, but the recent rise in Covid-related cases and deaths have the potential to negate all of the great work the authorities and the people of this nation have done in keeping us afloat.
As such, it is most encouraging to see the government’s vaccination program see such success in numbers and we hope that, moving forward, authorities improve their implementation and reach, so that more of the nation can be protected by vaccines. It is the only way to beat this pandemic – which has caused much grief and sorrow – once and for all.
