Stronger ties with Turkey

In accordance with Bangladesh's push for strengthened relations with other nations, it is encouraging to see discourse on forming strategic ties with Turkey.

In a recent call between the leaders of both nations, the Bangladeshi premiere expressed a keen interest to establish a strategic partnership with Turkey, while the Turkish president reiterated their commitment to work with Bangladesh.

This is especially promising as Turkey, a middle power country, has an impressive defence production system, which could prove to be an important area of cooperation for our own defence strategies in the future.

Bangladesh and Turkey have maintained a strong friendship so far, and this will only deepen the mutually beneficial ties that they share.

Bangladesh has already established strategic partnerships with three countries in Asia, and it is only certainly the logical step forward to branch out towards other influential nations.

A strategic partnership can enable enhanced political, security, and defence cooperation between the nations, in alignment with the core national interests of both parties involved. Additionally, economic cooperation can also be expected to improve through this process.

This is undoubtedly the kind of long-term, strategic move that can help Bangladesh establish stronger allies across the globe, who will eventually assist us on our road to sustainable and comprehensive development.

In order to see this through, both nations must ensure frequent political visits to discuss plans to further strengthen ties. We must continue to seek opportunities to improve relations with our existing allies as well as other powerful nations in the interest of our nation's progress.

With calculated moves as such, it is possible to establish a favourable global network, and we can thus hope to reach our full potential as a nation.
