Bangladesh has been steadfast in its efforts for the development of its infrastructure and communication system, with many of its dream projects having been completed successfully in recent times.
Staying true to their commitment towards the country's development, the government inaugurated two more bridges on Monday, which have the potential to vastly improve connectivity across the country.
The Madhumati Bridge in Narail -- the first six-lane bridge in the country -- and the Nasim Osman Bridge in Narayanganj district were both opened to traffic at midnight on Monday.
Both bridges have the potential to greatly enable more efficient connectivity as well establish faster communication between several districts.
As communication between at least 10 districts is set to improve, our country's capacity for trade and commerce will also experience a significant rise, which is extremely encouraging for our development plans.
At the inauguration, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina discussed the vital role both bridges will play in improving local trade, as well as pave the way for enhanced connectivity and not only boost local trade, but also facilitate faster international trade, as there are plans to connect to our neighbouring countries like India, Nepal, and Bhutan in the future.
We must heed the PM's words; both these bridges hold a lot of promise for the overall advancement of the nation, and should just be the initial steps towards improving overall connectivity.
The completion of these projects is also further proof that the funding coming in from our neighbours can assist us significantly in garnering fruitful results for the country as well as in terms of our bilateral relations.
With Bangladesh making steady improvements in its standing on the global map, we can hope that more doors will be opened for further investment, and we continue to invest in the right projects on our road to development.
