Nurturing a niche market

During the early 2016, Taufiq Ul Haque, a second year Biotechnology student from North South University opened a simple Facebook page called Card Board Ink. It started out as a humble favour to those who did not have access to online shopping or their favorite foreign brands. The page was initially meant to bring in collectibles and hobby-based products from the UK for friends, family, and other customers in general.Being a fan of puns, Taufiq initially intended to import card games, board games and art supplies, hence, the name Card Board Ink. After a few months, upon noticing a trend with gym supplements, Taufiq met Shabaz Hossain, a Pharmacy major from North South University, an avid gym supplement enthusiast and all-around fitness expert. They joined in on the hype train for fitness and gym, partnered up and decided to focus more on gym supplements. With the beginning of 2017, also began the journey of Card Board Fitness, a business of passion and dedication. By the end of the year, they proudly introduced one of the top, but locally underrated gym supplement brand from the UK - MyProtein. Card Board Fitness was able to successfully create a market for MyProtein by August 2016, boosting sales by at least GBP14,000, as of July 2017. Pulok Ahmed, a CSE major from North South University and a talented videographer, joined Card Board Fitness in the same year as the third member. He acted as the final piece of the puzzle that completed a powerhouse of a team that would go on to take Card Board Fitness to the next level. As of 2018, Card Board Fitness is a proud supplier and supporter of over a 1000 regular fitness enthusiasts, with over 13,000 followers on Facebook. The founders recently launched a highly customer centric e-commerce website for easier online shopping and home delivery services. Card Board Fitness provides authentic products with highly competitive prices in the market. With 'Thrive for Greatness' as its slogan, the company aims to bring out the best in all of its customers with proper training, diet and supplementation. With awareness videos and product review vlogs on YouTube, it is well on its way towards setting trends in the local fitness industry. Last year, Card Board Fitness also hosted its very own weightlifting competition called “OutLIFT” in the North South University gym. It plans on hosting more events and competitions like this in the future.Visit the website at: www.cardboardfitness.comFacebook: facebook.com/cardboardfitnesssupplementsInstagram: instagram.com/cardboard_fitness; For more information: 01841847483
