Nine best artworks produced by children have been selected to be sent to Japan for an international competition where children’s vision of the “ultimate car of tomorrow” will be showcased.
The nine contestants, in the presence of their family members, were also awarded at a programme held yesterday at Navana Toyota Pragati Sharani showroom in the capital, according to a press release.
The top finalists were Shahriar Abid, Saria Hasan and Nafisa Noshin Khan from Group A; Ushoshi Momen, Joyoti Hawlader and Araf Hossain from Group B; and Robin Ahmed, Debjyoti Borshon and Nafisa Islam from Group C.
Noted artistes Shishir Bhattacharya and Sheikh Afzal were the judges in the competition that had three categories: age below 8, 8-11 years and 12-15 years. After collecting all the artworks, Navana authorities organised an exhibition showcasing the top 150 works among a total of 3,500.
The final global winner will be announced in August and will get a chance to travel to Japan with his parents to receive the international award.
The international competition was first held back in 2004 and its primary objective was to challenge children around the world to paint their vision of how the ultimate car of tomorrow would look like.
Toyota Motor Sales and Marketing Corporation have been organising the event with the goal of providing children with the opportunity to have the pleasure in materialising their imagination.
The competition is usually held in around 50 countries, selected from various continents of the world. Among the 50, Bangladesh remains one of the proud participants.
