Int’l Children Film Festival to begin on March 1

The Seventh International Film Festival organised by Children’s Film Society will begin on March 1, informed the organisers at a press conference on Saturday at the seminar room of the Public Library.

It was declared that the weeklong festival will feature about 150 films made by child directors from 35 countries. The festival will be held simultaneously in the seven divisional cities of the country.   

Shawkat Osman Auditorium Public Library, Alliance Francaise De Dhaka, Russian Cultural Centre and Daffodil University will be the venues of the festival in Dhaka City.

There will be five sections—Cotemporary World Cinema for Children, World Classics, Competitive Section featuring local films, Flashback presenting selected films from previous festival and Bangladesh Panoroma. The festival will also present a daylong seminar on March 6 at the Public Library.

The press conference was attended by Festival Director and noted filmmaker Morshedul Islam, Festival Advisor Dr Yasmeen Haque and President and General Secretary of the Children’s Film Society respectively Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal and Munira Morshed Munni.
