Robi Singer Hunt’s grand finale concert held

The grand finale concert of the Robi Singer Hunt was held on Sunday night with participant Silverlight winning the competition and a music album deal worth TK100,000 from Robi Axiata Ltd. The runner up is Niger Sultan Mimi.

This is the first time in Bangladesh that a singer hunt competition had been introduced through the social media. The competition finalists were judged by popular musicians Bappa Majumdar, Tahsan Rahman Khan and George Lincoln D’Costa.

“When Robi said that they are organizing an online campaign named Robi Singer Hunt, I was very excited,” said Tahsan. “It’s always good to discover new talent among the youth and given them the much needed break.”

The Robi Facebook page witnessed an overwhelming response in the first phase of the competition.

Robi’s Chief Markets Officer, Pradeep Shrivastava, said, “We are particularly proud to be doing so through a first-of-its-kind social media based talent hunt. Individuals often have abilities that go undiscovered. We look forward to discovering the new golden voice of Bangladesh.”

After launching the contest in September, Robi has shortlisted seven winners based on facebook “likes” and judges’ choice after four rounds of intense competition. Seven singers, including three bands, have made it to the final round.
