Well-acclaimed actor Raima Sen is to play the role of her grandmother, the legendary Suchitra Sen. Suchitra quit the cinemas when she was at the height of her career and was never seen in public again.
Raima is delighted about the film: “I’ve always been told I resemble her (Suchitra). I’ve been with her in Kolkata for almost a month now. For the past eleven days she was hospitalised due to respiratory problems. But now, she’s recovered and will have a long life.”
The name of the film is not fixed yet, the film is to be directed by Abhijit Chakraborty and the production house “Bhuter Bhobishot.”
Raima further mentions: “The theme of the film is beautiful, if everything goes all right, this would be a classic film.”
In the movie, Suchitra Sen will be called by her nick name Rama. The film will signify the 60’s and 70’s motion. It is about the life story and struggle of Suchitra Sen who became a popular star from a mere common girl.
