A versatile guitarist Ibban Fahim Islam known as Mahaan started his music career in 2006 with some of his friends. He was in a band named "Onubhutiheen," where he used to play heavy metal songs. Later, he played in different bands like "Change" and "Chayapath," and explored various genres . Mahaan's latest album "Cholo" has been released on August 2. In an interview with Dhaka Tribune, the guitarist shares his preference and aspirations:
"My album 'Cholo' is quite different as it is a compilation of 'one man one guitar' instrumental acoustic guitar with the finger picking technique. This is the first ever instrumental guitar album that has been launched in Bangladesh. The tracks have been played at one take and the album consists eight tracks, among them six original and two tribute tracks and is available in online stores such as iTunes and Amazon for worldwide purchase."
While talking about the market desires on instrumental music, the musician stated that he has been simultaneously uploading his songs in Youtube and Facebook. He was amazed to see the response of the audience and hence, decided to launch an instrumental based album.
Mahaan is inspired by foreign musicians releasing pure instrumental albums. He further states that many talented bassist, guitarist or drummer gets overshadowed in a band. So, he decided to go for his album for the audience of Bangladesh.
"A lot of musicians such as I, want to create a single entity as a musician. I choose to be in my very own creative and innovative world."
