Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in association with the State Bank of India in Bangladesh is organising “An Evening of Folk Music by Chandana Roy Majumdar” of Bangladesh at 6:30 PM on August 24, 2013 at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, H No 35, Rd 24, Gulshan-1, Dhaka.
Chandana Roy Majumdar is one of the outstanding exponents of folk songs and Nazrul Geeti in Bangladesh. After securing a diploma in music from the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Chandana graduated to record more than 25 solo musical albums in folk music and Nazrul Geeti (most of which have been “Best Selling”) in her long musical career till date. Her song- “Jao pakhi bolo tare” -had been a rage amongst the music lovers of Bangladesh and the world. She is currently imparting training in music at the prestigious Chhayanaut in Dhaka.
