To celebrate the 64th birth anniversary of the prominent theatre personality Selim Al Deen, Swapnadal is organising a two day fest from August 17 to 18 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
A committee has been formed to commemorate Selim Al Deen’s contribution, along with Zaharabi Ripon as a moderator and Fazle Rabbani Shukon as a secretary member in the organisation.
The first day of the festival will be inaugurated by renowned theatre personality Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu at 6:30pm at Studio Theatre Hall of BSA.
A discussion on the works and principles of Selim and presentation of music and choreography will be presented, along with Selim Al Deen memoires of the liberation war “Festoon E Lekha Smriti” will be screened at 7:00pm.
The festival will conclude with Swapnadal’s tribute by giving wreath to Selim Al Deen’s grave in Jahangirnagar University.
A seminar on Selim Al Deen’s works through the eyes of younger playwrights will be held at 4:00pm at the Academy’s seminar room.
Selim Al Deen’s play “Hargaj,” directed by Zahid Repon, will be staged at the academy’s Experimental Theatre Hall at 7:00pm on the day.
