For the city children, the ongoing two-day puppet theatre show at the Shilpakala Academy could be a source of immense amusement and an educational experience. Internationally acclaimed puppeteer Mostofa Monwar directed the show that concludes today, with an array of short stories involving our traditional cultural elements and moral teachings depicted by funny puppets.
The show will start at 7pm at the Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of BSA.
On previous events of its kind, a huge audience gathered at the venue and the urban children, who are not very familiar to the fables deep rooted to our rich cultural heritage, were simply moved by the performance. This time, the programme presents stories titled “Shadher Lau,” “Agachha,” “Kopi,” “Lichu Chor” and “Bohurupi.”
The puppet theatre show has been organised by the department of
film and theatre of BSA as part of its programmae promoting traditional culture.
