Five female Bangladeshi artists showcase artworks in Vietnam

Five renowned female artists of Bangladesh are going to participate in an exhibition titled “Colours across the Bengal Delta” at Vietnam.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Bangladesh, Gallery 21 has arranged an exhibition at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts at the capital of Vietnam.

Shameem Subrana, Samina Nafis, Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Maksuda Iqbal Nipa and Bipasha Hayat are the participating artists who will showcase a total of 25 paintings at the art show.

This is the first time such an exhibition featuring Bangladeshi artists will be held in Vietnam. The display will take place between June 5 and 7.

All five artists are popular and well known for their distinctive style of paintings. Kanak Chanpa Chakma is renowned for her depiction of the life style of tribal people in her Canvas. Bipasha Hayat is mainly an abstractionist and her compositions have a soothing harmony. Samina Nafis concentrates on rural pottery and creates unique compositions. Shameen Subrana plays with vibrant colours that renders pleasant forms in the canvas .Maksuda Iqbal Nipa is a welknown abstract painter who has already left her mark specially in oil medium.

The exhibition is a joint venture by the Embassy of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Hanoi Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh.
