The works of Shahriar speak for itself, it is quite difficult to describe the surreal beauty of his realistic motifs, and his creative cognition seems to be profoundly devoted to nature. He romanticises the nature with his artistic instinct.
His approach as an artist is realistic and the viewers at a glance can communicate with his paintings. Using all the technique and skill he renders his composition in a lifelike gesture. All the elements of nature come to life in his canvas.
Trees, tree trunks, flora and fauna, boats, river and many others are the recurring elements in his paintings. The artist has also expressed his skilfulness by presenting some fascinating figurative works. These works depict some intimate moments of human life with nature.
Shahriar is a painter of 90s when some of the artists intentionally decided to deny abstraction. Perhaps, being influenced by the trend, Shahriar creates his work with simple composition yet having envious dexterity in the use of brush. The use of colours which is playful by nature is one of the prominent features of his work and successfully establishes tranquil harmony in the latest art pieces. This kind of achievement is not that easy to acquire, which testifies the artist’s devotion, perseverance and honesty to his artistic endeavour.
Eminent and versatile painter, printmaker Shahid Kabir inaugurated the exhibition.
