Sayed Jahangir’s work is like visual poetry, because of their nature and compositional value. It won’t be wrong to say that he paints like writing poetry.

Memories, life experience and struggle are the recurring factors that encompass an individual’s existence, those who chose the pen to capture the essence of that transitory moment and succeed rendering it accordingly are called poets. If those poetic expressions and imagery can be contemplated by line and colour then, they are doubtlessly called a successful painting with both aesthetical and substantial value.

Artist Jahangir has consistently amazed us with such visual poetry from fifties till now. His medium for creating art-work range from canvas, handmade paper, to simply the pages of his journals.

His recent work shows privilege to adherence of human life and nature and he has engulfed it in the compositions with a minimalistic approach which is a sign of his maturity as an artist. But the most noteworthy thing in each of his work is a natural rhythmic pattern, which is one of the artist’s by born ability of creative expertise. This enriches Jahangir’s work and distinguishes him from others.

The exhibition was inaugurated by diplomat Faruq Chowdhury. Chairperson of the gallery Rokeya Kader, Publisher of the Daily new Age Shahidulla khan, Theatre personality Aly Zaker and eminent painter Rafiqun Nabi gave speech on the occasion.
