The water in the coastal belt of Bangladesh is undrinkable due to its high level of salinity. The water treatment plants will provide safe drinking water available for the destitute inhabitants of the region through Friendship’s disaster relief programme. Nestlé Bangladesh Limited will fund the operational costs of two community-based water treatment plants (WTP), installed by Friendship to strengthen the relief effort in Shaymnagar, Satkhira District for 2016.

Under the agreement, Friendship will monitor the plant machineries supplier who will give technical support and regular checking to ensure water quality, according to the Annual Maintenance Contract signed with the supplier company.
