The 2nd graduation ceremony of the BGMEA Institute of Fashion and Technology (BIFT) was held on Tuesday, October 13, at the International Convention City Bushundhara (ICCB), Dhaka organised by BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT).
Nurul Islam Nahid, M P to the honourable minister of the Ministry of Education of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, conferred the certificates to the graduating students. 962 students successfully completed all the academic requirements in various disciplines of the Bachelors and Masters Degree programs of the Institute.
Muzaffar U Siddique, founder chairman, Board of Trustees of BUFT, chaired the ceremony and delivered the welcome speech to congratulate the graduates for their remarkable achievement. He hoped that the fresh graduates are endowed with sufficient knowledge and skill to be able to face any challenges that our society and the world brings to them.
Major (Retd) Abdul Mannan, chairman of Suman Group and South Asian Airlines Ltd, graced the ceremony as the speaker and Prof Harun-or-Rashid attended the function as the special guest. Other Trustee members of BUFT who attended the function were Siddiqur Rahman, president of BGMEA; Tipu Munshi of managing director of Sepal Garments Ltd; Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, managing director of Onus Group; Faruque Hasan, vice president of BGMEA and managing director of Giant Group; S M Mannan Kochi, vice president of BGMEA and managing director of Seha Design (BD) Ltd; and vice chancellor of BUFT, Prof Syed Masud Husain. Vote of thanks was given by Abdus Salam Murshedy, managing director of Envoy Group and member of Board of Trustees of BUFT.
The pro vice chancellor of BUFT Prof Ayub Nabi along with the registrar, head of the department, officials, graduating students and their families, local and foreign dignitaries, government officials and members of the print and electronic media also attended the function.
