A delegation from Bangladesh, for the first time ever participated in the prestigious "Asian Leadership Conference," held from September 17 to 21, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Universal Peace Federation (UPF), a Consultant-NGO of United Nations invited Asian leaders to sit together on the debates and dialogues to rethink and restructure the foundation of global peace and sustainable development through the restoration of universal principles of peace.
With an urgent need for innovative and bold leadership to effectively address the critical issues of our time, this continental summit ended up with setting forth a legacy of robust appeal to continue the Asian practices of familial traditions, while emphasising the indecent societies to reform their fading values immediately and accordingly.
A number of international delegates, aside those of South and Southeast Asian leaders attended the summit and learned the core principles of nation-building in Asia.
Major South Asian delegates joined Nepal, Pakistan and the kingdom of Bhutan, while a great number of Southeast Asian leaders joining mostly from Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand itself and the Philippines as well. The diverse organising committee came across from South Korea, Germany and the United States of America.
US Department of State Alumni, Imran Ahsan of University of Dhaka led the delegation of Bangladesh to Thailand. With UPF chapter, Imran and his fellow comrades have started trending the peace-building movement in Bangladesh.
The UPF international network of Ambassadors for Peace is the largest and most diverse group of peacemakers in the world. The Principles of Peace are the essential teaching of Dr Sun Myung Moon, the founder of UPF. UPF’s philosophy of peace-building is deeply rooted in the family.
Asia regional chairman of UPF, Dr Chung Sik Yong said in his lecture, "With universal ethics, maintaining religious heritage and family traditions, Asia has almost reached there to lead the world of 21st century ensuring peace and property together’.
From rational and spiritual point of views, Dr Robert S Kittel, UPF’s Asia regional director of education, delivered couple of impressive lectures on the issues of Character Education, which is designed to reshape our generations towards positive peace within the societies, with the universal values of familial ideals and divine spirituality.
UPF-Asia secretary general Ursula McLackland emphasised upon the principle of sacrifice - "Living for the Sake of Others" to foster individualistic dimensions of peace-building around the world.
At the end of the summit, the participants joined the internationally acclaimed cultural show at "Siam Niramit." With Guinness World Record, this most-watched performance is one of the largest stage productions in the world. The stage show presented Thailand’s remarkable history as well as its rich cultural heritage.
