Four workers have sustained burn injuries after a shoe factory in the capital's busy Bongshal area was burned down in a fire on Friday night.
Injured Aminul Islam, 25, Aminur Rahman, 20, Shariful Islam, 22, and Abdur Rahim, 18, have been rushed to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Aminul sustained burns on his face and body, DMCH police outpost in-charge Mozammel Hoque said. Aminur, Shariful and Rahim sustained burn injuries on their limbs.
The fire broke out at a small shoe factory at the Kayettuli area around 10pm, Fire Service and Civil Defence control room officials said.
Two fire fighting units doused the flames after 30 minutes of effort, the control room said.
However, an official estimation of the damage incurred could not be made.
