The prestigious BASIS National ICT Award recognizes the country's best and most promising projects, initiatives and companies for their outstanding contribution to developing services for a digital Bangladesh.
This year, a total of 68 projects were awarded in over 36 categories at the event for their outstanding contribution to the ICT sector.
ToguMogu, the first and only parenting app in Bangladesh, launched in October 2020.
The app connects pregnant and new mothers to receive personalized health information and get access to healthcare services.
In 2022, ToguMogu expanded its operation to RMG factories for female garment workers.
Brac, H&M Foundation and UNFPA supported ToguMogu with grants to bring pregnancy, health and the wellbeing app and its services to the largest female worker community in Bangladesh.
ToguMogu CEO Dr Nazmul Arefin said: “We started ToguMogu targeting nuclear families who recently became first-time parents like myself living in the cities. This year has been amazing for us. We have successfully expanded our operation to target females and mothers from economically challenged backgrounds.”
He further added: “BASIS National ICT Award 2022 is an amazing recognition for the team's hard work. I am grateful to the judges for nominating ToguMogu. I believe with the necessary support, we can build ToguMogu as a global app for all parents.”
At the ceremony, Jashim Uddin, president of FBCCI, Russell T Ahmed, president of BASIS, Zeaul Alam PAA, secretary of the ICT Division, and other industry leaders were present.
