HSBC Bangladesh launched an app that not only shows English but also the Bengali calendar.
The app, titled “HSBC Bangladesh My Calendar” is available for download in both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The app is simple with a clean design.
It features the HSBC logo on top, the main calendar in the middle and a relevant image of the month on top of the calendar.
The app only has two buttons on the top left and right corners. The left is for notifications and the right button is for switching the calendar from English to Bengali and vice versa.
Apart from its elegant and minimalist design, I would recommend this app to our readers for four distinctive reasons.
Firstly, this app offers a Bengali calendar, and just like the English calendar, the Bengali dates are also marked for holidays.
What to know which day of the Bengali calendar is Ekushey February? Switching to the Bengali section, I found out that it's the 8th of Falgun.
Secondly, the app offers some amazing photographs with each of the months, which also represents the special days or weather of the month. The images are vibrant and look really nice.
Thirdly, the calendar contains all the Bangladeshi government holidays of the year, which will be extremely helpful.
And finally, the app has this one interesting feature where it plays music whenever the user taps on the date for certain holidays. For example, tapping February 21 or Falgun 8 will start playing the music for “Amar Bhai Er Rokte Rangano Ekushey February.”
The app also works offline without any internet connection. It might be convenient for some people who are careful with their mobile data usage. But since I stay connected with the internet all the time anyway, it didn’t make much of a difference.
Right now, the app only has the year 2022 and 2023 in it, which, according to HSBC, will be updated later on.
This is the only con in my opinion, not having the option to see previous or future years.
