The Chinese phone makers OnePlus have revealed a better, high-end device called the OnePlus 3T. The 3T looks exactly like the first OnePlus 3 version but significantly better in specs. Some might think it a marketing scheme, others may think it as a valuable upgrade of an already popular phone. This model, however, will cost around Tk35,000 for the 64GB version and Tk38,000 for the 128GB option. Even with a slight bump in specs and price, it’s still worth getting. The fact remains, the OnePlus handsets aren’t just popular; they are actually very good smartphones, possibly the best in its range.
The marketing head Kyle Kiang said that the new 3T is simply an evolution of the 3. For the owners of the 3, it might be disappointing to know that the upgraded model is significantly better than the former. However, for new customers, this would be a very good time for investing in one of the best Android smartphones around. But wners of the 3 shouldn’t be completely disheartened because they still own a fine smartphone in their hands. In other words, it’s unnecessary to feel cheated for not owning the new 3T. You still have, roughly, a year left until the company reveals their new flagship.
The new models will be available later the month, with a full revelation in the coming months. So what exactly set the 3T apart from the original model? Let’s take a look.Battery and performanceThe 3T has a slight bump in a larger 3,400mAh battery, compared to the 3’s 3,000mAh battery. On paper it may not seem too big of a change, but you’ll definitely experience the alteration when you will use the device. Not to mention, the Dash Charging technology that allows for fast charging remains in the new version. On pure numbers, the OnePlus 3 lasted a little over 14 hours on continuous video playback. You can only estimate for now, but surely, it’ll last longer than that with the 3T.
And naturally, the specs have had a solid upgrade. The 3T boasts a 2.35GHz Snapdragon 821 chipset, which is higher than the 3’s 2.2GHz Snapdragon 820 processer. The big advantage to this is the 3T matches up with the new Google Pixels smartphone. The brand also states that even though there’s a higher clock speed, the processor will still run in the same efficient manner in order to not overburden the battery.CameraThere is a huge advancement on the front-facing camera. It went from only 8-megapixels to 16 in the new 3T. OnePlus says that it takes better low-light photos than the 3. This should be a huge plus for all of us who use Instagram and Snapchat on a regular basis. The rear camera stays at 16-megapixels, but apparently it’s now built with sturdier glass, and image stabilisation algorithm has been updated. This is an advantage when shooting video, so they appear move stable. The looksAs mentioned before, the outer design hasn’t changed. But the interior has. Launching with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, OnePlus promises that there will be a 7.0 Nougat update for both the 3 and 3T in the near future. The overall software updates take system gestures into consideration. There are gestures like flipping the device upside down to mute a call and taking screenshots of the display by sliding three fingers downward. You can resize icons as well, alongside a friendlier file managing system.Overall specs of the the OnePlus 3T:5.5-inch; 1,920x1,080 pixels; 401ppi pixel density
